RECORD DATA MINING

The Marker Group pioneered a unique data extraction service nearly 25 years ago known as data mining. Our clients were looking for an economical way to identify healthcare providers that may hold records pertinent to the case. Since then, we have retained a strong team of support personnel that are disciplined in reviewing all types of records and documents to identify treaters, insurance carriers, employers, schools and other potential record holders. Our team extracts, cites, and composes a contextual reference that gives our clients the information needed to make quick judgment on the relevance to the case and defense strategy.

Paired with record collection services, as part of a distinct protocol, the Marker Group is able to advance on the assembly of a case file. This occurs with minimal involvement from the defense team and keeps their focus on continued plans of action.

NURSE DATA MINING

Similar to our record data mining service, the Marker Group offers a heightened level of data extraction utilizing our skilled and proficient nurses. While the process of identifying providers is included in preparation of our medical review work products, we recognize that these more extensive nurse services may not align with every litigation’s budget. Nurse data mining is a balanced alternative typically utilized to harness and apply our nurses’ medical knowledge to quickly identify key providers. Clients also request nurse mining when provider identification is complex or related to ambiguous injury claims that may vary greatly amongst plaintiffs.

The Marker Group’s medical review and record collection team partner to track the nurse-extracted providers in our database and supply our clients with the flexibility to ultimately determine the importance of each potential record holder.

HIGH-TECH DATA MINING

Utilizing a full-text database that is constantly expanded as new records are collected and added to our OCR database, the Marker Group is able to offer a range of data extraction options that pair well with any of our other services. Term, word, product, provider, and proximity searches can be conducted across an entire litigation project, a subset of plaintiffs, or at the individual plaintiff level. The extracted data can be provided via report, data load, or an abstract compilation that contains each page of the returned results.
